Transforming Lives With Education & Training

Meet Shirleyann Cameron. Shirleyann is a 27-year-old woman who lost her job as a Community Property Assistant at the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) as a result of the pandemic. Like for many others in the community, times have been tough, and figuring out that next career move has been crucial.

But thanks to citywide initiatives like San Antonio’s Recovery and Resiliency Program and Bexar County’s Bexar County Strong Program, she was able to participate in the first cohort of training provided by Dynamic Advancement at our David Monroe Education Center.

Shirleyann recently completed the General Operations and Business Management program and is days away from taking her final exam to receive her Project Management Professional certification. Once complete, she will be qualified for dozens of open positions in San Antonio.

“Because of this program, I am much closer to getting into the career I’ve always dreamed of. The training I received has already paid off thanks to SAMSAT hiring me as part of their current intern program, as an administrative assistant. I’m eager to continue learning the constructs of business management and general operations,” said Shirleyann.

Congratulations to Shirleyann who is well on her way to achieving her career goal of landing a job in project management.

SAMSAT’s partnership with Workforce Solutions Alamo (WSA) Dynamic Advancement (DA) and other partners allows us to transform lives by providing training for hundreds of San Antonians just like Shirleyann.
