Interactive Experiences
Flight Simulators
Take off with our flight simulators! First experience what it was like to be a Wright Brother with our Wright Flyer, and then experience 21st-century flight with our eVTOL quadcopter.
Augmented Reality
Create islands, rivers, and mountains with our AR Sandbox. Our AR ‘Move, Grab, and Throw’ Sensor allows you to wave your hands and then see a mirrored version in the simulator. The AI Tablet at the Marine Tank Engine allows you to explore the tank in 3D.
Autonomous Vehicle
Our SwRI Autonomous Vehicle exhibit features an interactive display showing how a self-driving car "sees."
Cyber City
The tablet at Cyber City allows you to control the power grid of the city. Nearby, play Battle for Cyber City, a hacker and defender game. See if you can hack into the city or defend it!
Sphero Table
Drive small spherical robots using tablets, navigating or racing them through the track. You can adjust the color, light, direction, and speed of the robots.
WEX Lunar Exhibit
Assemble your own landing and launch pad using 3D-printed tiles. Next, hold different types of experimental tiles and even hold a jar of simulated moon dust!
Security Operations Center (SOC)
Located near the back of the museum, our computer lab features fun and educational games related to cybersecurity, space, and coding. The page also lists resources related to local colleges, career pathways, and esports.
robotics
Check out our collection of robots ranging from industrial application to entertainment. Catch a show at our Andy Robot exhibit and try your hand at piloting a robot through our intern-built Drive Maze.
Critical infrastructure
Learn about all of the essential resources needed to keep a modern city running and how to protect them from hostile actors. Featuring Cyber City, an intern built replica city, and our intern developed video game Battle for Cyber City.
Cyber Security
Explore the world of cyber security in our Simulated Cyber SOC, where guests can sit down and enjoy activities and games designed to educate on the importance of cyber security, strong passwords, and digital citizenship.
Aerospace
Have a seat at our fight simulators and experience what it was like to pilot the Wright Flyer, what it's like now to pilot a Beta Alia 250 electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. While you're here, learn about how augmented reality is changing the way we maintain and repair these vehicles.

Stand before Nikola Tesla’s towering coils, iconic machines that revealed the possibilities of wireless electricity and captured imaginations around the world.

FAQ
Is there an admission cost?
No. SAMSAT AREA 21 is donation-based and does not charge an entry fee. When you arrive, we simply ask that you sign in to help us track visitor attendance.
Do I need an appointment?
No. You’re welcome to visit any time during our regular hours of operation. For groups of 10 or more, we simply ask that you notify us at least three days in advance.
Is parking free?
Yes! Parking is free for SAMSAT AREA 21 visitors. Occasionally, special events at the Boeing Center at Tech Port may require paid parking. If event staff asks you to pay, check in with SAMSAT AREA 21 staff and we can provide a promotional code for free parking.
Are guided tours available?
Yes! We are currently testing a self-guided tour program that you can access by scanning QR codes throughout the museum with your mobile device. At the end of the tour, we’d love for you to share your feedback through a short survey.
If you prefer a traditional guided tour, we also offer scheduled guided experiences for a fee. Visit our Contact page to submit an inquiry, and a member of our team will follow up with you.
What interactive experiences are available?
We have a variety of hands-on and interactive experiences throughout the museum. You can explore the current list HERE.
Is there food available?
We ask that food and drinks remain outside the museum. If you’re looking for something to eat or drink during your visit, the Boeing Center at Tech Port offers the Provisions Food Hall and Bar just down the hall.
Will my kids enjoy the museum?
Our exhibits are generally designed for a third-grade learning level and above, but we believe science and technology can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages. Our hope is that everyone leaves having discovered something new!
How long does it take to go through the museum?
Some groups spend as little as 30 minutes exploring the museum, while others stay for three hours or more. We hope to see you soon!
